George Stephenson Teaching School Alliance is a cohort four alliance who are inclusive and outward-facing and are built around a collective moral purpose. That core purpose is to raise the achievement of all students in all the schools in the alliance.
Our alliance consists of 17 schools. Our four strategic partners are Longbenton and Seaton Burn schools, Newcastle University School of Education and their Research Centre for Learning and Teaching.
We are a lead school for school direct in our alliance, accredit and broker of SLEs and will become a member of NETSP and provide CPD opportunities through that. We plan to develop further links with Newcastle University Centre for Research in Teaching and Learning and in particular the large-scale international research project into Self Organised Learning (SOLE) with Sugata Mitra and Newcastle University.
